ABOUT CSPT

Who We Are

The Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CSPT) is a national not-for-profit charitable organization that aims to foster the application of educational and research excellence to drug discovery and therapeutic choice.

CSPT is recognized for its involvement with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada fellowship training program in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, as well its support of graduate/postdoctoral trainees and academic researchers across the country.

CSPT is the official Canadian member of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR).

Our History

The Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CSPT) was founded on July 1, 2008. It was born out of a merger of the Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology (CSCP) and the Pharmacological Society of Canada (PSC), each of which had been in existence for over 25 years.

Membership

The CSPT membership comprises researchers, scientists, teachers, trainees and clinicians. CSPT members have an interest in pharmacology research, education and practice, and are active in academia, industry, government and consulting.  Coming from a diversity of educational and experiential backgrounds, members share a common interest in issues related to pharmacology and toxicology.

Volunteer Opportunities

History Committee 

The newly formed History Committee is seeking members for its committee. If you have an interest in delving into the CSPT archives or putting together the pieces of CSPT and our roots, we would love to hear from you.
