Welcome to the Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics’ Glossary of Pharmacology! Here you will find peer-reviewed definitions of commonly used terms in pharmacology that include clinical relevance, examples, illustrations, teaching tips, and more. The purpose of this expanded glossary is to provide our community (faculty, trainees and the public) with a reliable source of information that can be used for consultation but also as a teaching resource.
Terms are organized below by topic but can be searched and found in alphabetical order in our Table of Pharmacological Terms.
Thank you to our contributors and editors: Dr. Fabiana Caetano Crowley, Dr. Cindy Woodland, Dr. Brad Urquhart, Dr. Michael Rieder, Dr. Facundo Garcia-Bournissen, Dr. Khaled Abdelrahman, Karim Ibrahim, Jennifer Lin, Dr. Antonios Diab, Brendan McKeown, Dr. Bruce Carleton, Dr. Daniel Sitar, Dr. James Hammond, and Dr. Stuart MacLeod.
It is our intention to continue to expand the CSPT’s Glossary of Pharmacology. If you are a CSPT member and would like to contribute, please contact email@example.com
