Join us on Friday, December 8th to hear novel insights and future directions from two junior faculty CSPT members!

Dr. Britt Drögemöller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Medical Genetics at the University of Manitoba and holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine. Dr. Drögemöller received her PhD from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2013, and continued her training in pharmacogenomics and precision medicine at the University of British Columbia, where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Canadian Pharmacogenomics Network for Drug Safety. Dr. Drögemöller's research focuses on using large-scale genomic and computational analysis to guide the development of novel treatment strategies that offer maximum benefit and minimal harm.

Dr. Thomas (Tom) Velenosi received his PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from Western University. As a graduate student, he used state-of-the-art metabolomics analysis to identify a novel metabolic biomarker of kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease. He then joined the Laboratory of Metabolism at the National Cancer Institute (National Institutes of Health) as a postdoctoral fellow, which was supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship. There, he began his research vision by developing a novel approach to using metabolic biomarkers as a path for precision therapy and improving outcomes for cancer patients. He is currently an assistant professor in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
