Creative Approaches in Pharmacology Education Symposium

CSPT Pharmacology Education Symposium will bring together pharmacology educators from across Canada. This year’s symposium will be offered virtually. In this year's symposium, we will showcase the creative approaches that the outstanding educators in our society are using to teach pharmacology across the country.


The Symposium will be 1.5 hours long and is open to everyone involved in post-secondary pharmacology education. Registration is required.

Ute Schwarz, PhD on

Dr. Schwarz is an associate professor in Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University, London.



Oana Birceanu, PhD on

“Students leading the way: a comprehensive and unique approach to teaching a 3rd year undergraduate laboratory course in Physiology and Pharmacology”


Dr. Birceanu is an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario, London.



Kerry Goralski, PhD on

"Creating Engaging and Interactive Pharmacology Lessons with Top Hat Courseware"


Dr. Goralski is a professor and associate director Research College of Pharmacy. He is also a cross-appointed professor at the Department of Pharmacology at Dalhousie University, Halifax.  Dr. Goralski is also an affiliated staff scientist at the Division of Pediatric Haematology/Oncology, IWK Health Centre, and He is a senior scientist, at Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute, Halifax, NS.


Spring Farrell, PhD on

 "Choose your own adventure' assignments increase engagement in an introductory pharmacology course".


Dr. Farrell is an Instructor in the Department of Pharmacology at Dalhousie University,  Halifax specializing in teaching introductory pharmacology to health professions students.
